The Oregon Coast overall is quite remote, but the SW corner in particular is very remote. The big thing to think about (imo) with both is how remote each is. That said, I've never lived there just spent weekends in each, but I don't mind the coastal weather. But I'd be surprised of the overall dreariness is much different. Bandon sits a few miles west of the same range so wouldn't see the same effect at least in town. It would theoretically make sense - Brookings is pressed right up against the wetter side of the coastal range, so the clouds will tend to dump on the town as they push up and over ("orographic lift").
